Donna Harris

is currently the Public Information Representative (PIR) for the US Postal Inspection Service in New York. Donna has been in her current position for over 3 years, and has worked at the United States Postal Service and its law enforcement agencies for almost 29 years. Donna began her career as a city letter carrier in NJ and moved through the agency to become the Manager of two Operations Support Groups, one in Bala Cynwyd and the other in Chicago. In 2006 Donna moved to Virginia, where she served in the position of Manager, Business Services, and in 2011 she moved back to “city that never sleeps” to her current position, PIR. Donna also hosts a podcast that can be found on iTunes, the New York Crime Chronicles that focuses on consumer fraud prevention.

 

Did You Know…The United States Postal Inspection Service is the law enforcement arm of the Postal Service. Their agency has been around since the early 1700s, whose mission is to ensure the integrity of the mail and the Postal Service by providing investigative, security, and preventive services, and by enforcing federal statutes that protect the mail, postal employees, customers, and assets.

Call for Nominations for New Officers

  • Do you want to help guide the next generation of government communications best practices?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, now is the time to get involved!

The National Association of Government Communicators is seeking nominations for three Board of Directors’ positions: President-Elect, Membership and Volunteer Director and Competitions Director.

  • The President-Elect serves as the President's deputy and performs all duties of the President in the President's absence. He or she succeeds the President when the President's term expires. The President-Elect is responsible for collecting officer reports for Board of Directors meetings and assumes other activities assigned by the President.
  • The Membership and Volunteer Director manages and establishes programs that enhance member recruitment, retention, and involvement in the NAGC.
  • The Competitions Director manages the Blue Pencil/Gold Screen Awards Competition.
